Immigration has been the greatest competitive advantage of the United States relative to other developed countries. I totally agree with you. While Japan, France and others have faced demographic crises with too few young people working to support growing senior populations, the United States has, up until now, avoided this crisis due to immigration and the fact that immigrants tend to have more children than native-born Americans. Shutting down our immigration is a long-term threat to our prosperity.
